CNC Intelligent Rebar Processing Equipment Innovates the Construction Industry, with Intelligent Solutions Enhancing Efficiency and Precision

A quiet revolution is taking place in the field of rebar processing, where traditional manual cutting methods are gradually being replaced by intelligent and automated CNC production lines.
Inside the smart rebar processing plant of the Zhaowuda South Interchange Project in Hohhot, an intelligent rebar processing area with a length of 70 meters and a width of 30 meters is operating efficiently. Two intelligent CNC rebar sawing, cutting and threading production lines and two sets of vertical rebar bending centers work in coordination to meet the rebar processing needs of the entire interchange project.

Such scenarios are constantly unfolding at construction sites across the country.


01 Intelligent Equipment, Addressing Industry Pain Points

In recent years, with the accelerated pace of infrastructure construction in China, the construction industry has put forward increasingly higher requirements for the efficiency and quality of rebar processing.
Traditional rebar processing methods have long been plagued by pain points such as large deviations in rebar spacing, unstable binding quality, and high labor costs.
To solve these problems, CNC rebar cutting production lines have emerged as the times require.
This kind of automated production equipment, which integrates mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic technologies, realizes the full-process operation of automatic rebar feeding, fixed-length cutting, and shearing through a computer control system.
In the interchange project between Zhaowuda Road and South Second Ring Road, the intelligent rebar processing plant is equipped with advanced equipment such as 10t gantry cranes, intelligent CNC rebar sawing, cutting and threading production lines, and intelligent CNC vertical rebar bending centers.
These devices support the simultaneous processing operation of two sets of intelligent CNC production lines, fully meeting the various rebar processing needs of the project.

02 Technological Innovation, Dual Improvement in Efficiency and Precision

The core technological advantages of CNC rebar cutting production lines are reflected in two aspects: high precision and high efficiency.
Taking the GT8-14C-1 intelligent rebar straightening robot newly launched by Zhongji Luyuan Machinery as an example, the operating speed of this equipment reaches 130-150 meters per minute, which is 30% more efficient than traditional equipment.
Through the combination of a servo motor and an encoder, its fixed-length error can be controlled within ±1mm, and the flying shear system can realize the shearing process without interruption, fundamentally eliminating the problem of rebar surface wear.
The patent of "CNC Fixed-Length Device for Automatic Rebar Cutting" obtained by Shandong Zhongji Luyuan Machinery Co., Ltd. further solves the problems of cumbersome operation process and low transmission efficiency in stopping rebar feeding in traditional technologies.
This technology significantly improves the precision and consistency of rebar cutting.

03 Energy Conservation and Efficiency Enhancement, Significant Economic Benefits

CNC rebar cutting production lines not only improve processing efficiency but also perform prominently in energy conservation and consumption reduction.
The intelligent CNC rebar processing workshop built by Shaanxi Construction Sixth Construction Group in the Xi'an Railway Station project has delivered impressive data: "For every 2,000 tons of rebar processed, 17 tons of waste are generated, with an overall utilization rate as high as 99.15%, which is 2.85% more economical compared with traditional processing."
The rebar engineering of this workshop adopts an intelligent model of "mechanical automation + CNC processing". Through three closely linked steps—touchscreen programming design, worker code scanning and import, and CNC rebar processing—full-process refined management is realized.
The SJLY300T-20X intelligent fully automatic rebar truss welding robot demonstrates significant advantages in green energy conservation.
Through full active wheel-type stepping technology and an intelligent follow-up welding system, its installed power is reduced by 50.5%. Combined with medium-frequency inverter technology, it can achieve a 21% reduction in energy consumption and a 15% increase in electrode service life.

04 Industry Transformation, Intelligent Production Becomes a Trend

With the continuous advancement of technology, rebar processing has entered a new stage from single-machine intelligence to system intelligence.
The "Robot-Integrated Intelligent Production Line for Prefabricated Beam Rebar Cages" developed by CCCC First Highway Engineering Group Fourth Engineering Co., Ltd. won the first prize in the 2025 Highway Transportation Intelligent Equipment Technology Innovation Competition.
Based on self-developed new-generation information technologies such as CNC equipment, robots, and the Internet of Things, this project realizes the automated and precise operation of prefabricated beam rebar cage processing.
By means of robots collaborating to complete the full-process operations of rebar blanking, positioning, binding, and welding, this technology can be extended to the production scenarios of rebar components such as bent caps and New Jersey barriers.
The LY-WZD13 intelligent rebar mesh welding robot cluster recently launched by Zhongji Luyuan, relying on the independently developed MES production management system, can complete the automatic switching of transverse and longitudinal rebars, and the fully automatic adjustment of mesh size and rebar diameter, with specification replacement taking only 30 seconds.
"In scenarios such as commercial buildings and electronic factories, a truckload of goods often contains dozens of mesh sizes, and our cluster equipment can achieve seamless switching for continuous production," said the technical director of Zhongji Luyuan.
This equipment reduces the traditional operation requirement of 3-4 people to 1 person, and automatically matches the optimal plan through the built-in process parameter database to realize lean management.
The technology of CNC rebar cutting production lines is still constantly evolving.
In the future, with the in-depth integration of AI, big data, and equipment integration technology, rebar processing will achieve a higher level of intelligence.
Enterprises such as Zhongji Luyuan are building a "technological breakthrough triangle" system, taking "robot combination cluster" technology as a key starting point to further strengthen the capabilities of the "equipment intelligent brain".
The transformation from "Made in China" to "Intelligent Made in China" is advancing solidly in the segmented field of rebar processing.
