Zhongji Luyuan LYWG-12 Rebar Bending Machine: 99.9% Qualification Rate for Zhengzhou’s Key Housing Project

Recently, a brand-new intelligent steel bar bender has been officially put into operation at the construction site of a key affordable housing project in the Zhengzhou Prefabricated Building Industrial Park, Henan Province. Through integrated operations of automatic cutting and precise bending, this equipment has completely transformed the inefficient traditional manual steel bar processing mode. It not only increases the daily steel bar bending capacity from 800 pieces (by manual operation) to over 3,200 pieces, but also controls the bending precision error within ±0.5mm, providing crucial technical support for the standardized production of prefabricated building components.

According to Manager Li, the person in charge of the project construction, traditional steel bar bending processing relies on workers operating bending tools to process each bar one by one. This method not only has high requirements for workers' technical proficiency, but also is prone to problems such as stirrup angle deviation and inconsistent dimensions due to the influence of physical strength and operating habits. Repeated adjustments are required during subsequent assembly, and the average processing time for each steel bar is about 3 minutes. "Previously, our 10-person team could only complete the bending task of about 800 steel bars of 6-12mm specification even with full-load work in a day. When facing concentrated component production, the entire assembly progress was often delayed due to the lag in steel bar processing," Manager Li said.

The LYWG-12 intelligent steel bar bender introduced this time, produced by Shandong Zhongji Luyuan Machinery Co., Ltd., has completely broken this bottleneck. Equipped with an industrial-grade touch screen and a numerical control system, the equipment can automatically complete the whole-process operations of steel bar feeding, straightening, cutting and bending as long as workers import the stirrup parameters (such as angle, side length, hook length, etc.) from the construction drawings. It also supports one-click switching between 12 common stirrup shapes including circular, rectangular and rhombic. "Now, one worker can monitor 2 sets of equipment at the same time. A single set of equipment can complete the bending processing of 260 steel bars per hour, and the daily capacity can easily exceed 3,200 pieces, which is more than 4 times the efficiency of traditional manual work," Manager Li added. In addition, the equipment is equipped with an intelligent detection module. If there is a deviation in steel bar material or an abnormality in size, it will immediately stop and alarm, ensuring that the qualified rate of finished products remains above 99.9% and greatly reducing material waste.

It is worth noting that the application of this equipment is also in line with the national industrial policy of "vigorously developing prefabricated buildings". As one of the core processes of prefabricated buildings, the standardized and efficient processing of steel bar bending directly affects the component production cycle. According to calculations, after the introduction of the intelligent steel bar bender, the cost of the steel bar processing link of this affordable housing project has been reduced by 35%, the component prefabrication cycle has been shortened by 12 days, and the entire project is expected to be delivered 20 days in advance.
"Next, we plan to promote this set of equipment in 3 other projects within the industrial park, and at the same time cooperate with the equipment manufacturer to develop customized modules to meet the processing needs of larger-specification steel bars," Ms. Zhang, the operation director of the industrial park, stated. She emphasized that the popularization of intelligent steel bar processing equipment will promote the transformation of the prefabricated building industry from "labor-intensive" to "technology-intensive", injecting new vitality into the high-quality development of the regional construction industry.
